About Us
Bluegrass Holsters began in 2007 out of frustration that I could not find a holster that suited me….that and I could not afford to pay for all of the holsters I wanted to try…especially if I was only going to have them end up in a box. As a firearms instructor and daily carrier, I began evaluating what I liked and did not like about other makers leather. I quickly found a few makers that I thought epitomize the zenith in gun leather and decided to make them my entry level into the market. I was determined to not sell anything until it was perfected.

In my evaluation of various holsters I found certain things which did not work with my body type, and yet seemed fine with friends who carried the same leather. I developed patterns designed around the concept that if a middle-aged man with some tactical girth could hide a particular firearm in a particular holster, then a young guy with great metabolism could do the same. I also recognized that some folks are limited in their ability to buy quality gunleather, and thus I should keep the prices as low as possible while making a profit. In this quest I developed the Mason-Dixon™ holster which allows the customer to change from a belt-slot pancake style holster to a fully adjustable IWB with a few minor changes which can be made on the fly with a simple screwdriver.

I will never be competing with the “big name makers” as they already have a head start. I will likely never add anyone in my shop to help me. I am one man dedicated to turning out a quality holster at affordable prices…and doing so one holster at a time. No mass production here! I will never have a huge selection of holsters and accessories. I plan on offering the basics necessary for concealed carry and perfecting those offerings.

Thank you for allowing me to build a holster for you.

Customer Note

"Effective Immediately, I will no longer give estimated finish dates on each order. As a one man shop I obviously cannot take new orders, finish existing orders, answer emails, and make phone calls all at the same time. Most holsters are delivered in approximately 30 days from the date of payment (no customer is charged until work has started on their holster). In some cases this may be longer...and in those cases I will contact the customer. I will continue to post the month which contains the majority of the orders currently being built. Be prepared to wait if you are emailing or calling with questions regarding a specific product. I will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. If you are calling, or sending a "where's my holster" email, please do so only after the 30 day period has expired."
